Acting/off set time

Just wondering if anyone knows what the off set time means on the settings menu using accu chek combo.
Acting time I'm presuming is the duration of bolus, but, don't know what off set time is/should be set at. Just trying to finer tune the settings.

Is it the delay before the insulin starts to act? The "onset time"? So around 20 minutes maybe for a typical quick acting insulin.

DD does Also in the very back of the manual, it explains about the offset......not that easy to understand though

Basically it is the time for insulin to start working in your body....i have mine set at 45 mins for me, but during the summer my acting time is 3hours.

These settings work best for me if on a couple of occasions due to pump faults I've had to correct.

I have also checked the times by altering my basals for a morning to go high and see on a 15 minute basis of testing to see how long they take to START coming down....for some reason in summer insulin with me doesn't last so long either...wouldn't like to give info on how I set my acting time as people will moan at me....

Accuchek when I asked them years ago couldn't give advice as to actually what offset time means, I'm not even sure what it means, but I do know my pump settings work well for me.
