Acting time setting with the Aviva Combo handset

Hi guys

I use Novorapid with my spirit combo pump.

On the Aviva Combo handset / meter, in advice options what Acting Time would people recommend I use?

As a default it's currently set to 4:00 hours, so should I leave it at that or increase / decrease the time?

Or do I really need to go down the route of doing a bolus test to see truly how long insulin stays active in my system or is it around the same time period for all people?

Many thanks

Jonathan

It's different for everyone. Mine is set for 2.5 hours whereas when I injected I used larger doses and would last around 3hrs - 3.5hrs. I would do a bolus test.

4hours is about right for actrapid.

Hi,

On my settings I have meal rise of 3mmol and acting time of 4.00 hrs. If you are not sure i would suggest testing more until you are happy.
