Hi All
Not sure if i have put this on the right thread but i'm abit worried, i have searched the wed for 2 days now but am none the wiser. Back in March
my Diabetes consultant put me on Adcal D3 tablets as my vitamin D levels were very low, but since starting them my monthly cycle in April was alot lighter than normal an now i am 10 days late, i have had cramps, backache and tiredness but i was sterilized back in 2003 after my 3rd child i am now 45 years old. I have searched the web for side effects and even asked the diabetic nurse at my G.P surgery and she said it has no effect on a womans period. Not sure whats going on should i buy a pregnancy test or go straight to the doctors. I took these tablets a couple of years ago for about 4 weeks and back them it made my period 3 weeks late it started about 3 days after i stopped taking them. My friend suggested i stop taking them for a few days and see what happens. But would that effect my vit D levels as consultant wants me to take them for 6 months.

Your advise will be appriciated

Hi, I'm also on vitamin D for a very low level causing muscle problems. Low vitamin D is very bad for you, so you do need to take it. Can you go to an gynecologist? Getting my vitamin D up also made my very heavy periods slightly less and lengthened my periods a little. It stabilized quite quickly, but I did not have as long a delay as you.
