I have an active preteen she is a 10 year old competitive cheerleader. I have some concerns and don't know if all this combined could be diabetes.
-Frequent headaches.... mostly during practice but has been noticed other times during the day... doctor has been seen and motor skills and xrays are fine.
-tired more than normal she takes daily naps at school
-bed wetting never done this as child now 5 times in 3 weeks
-doesn't really weigh a lot like 60 pounds and doesn't seem to really gain anything
-thirsty all the time.... usually up 3 times a night to drink something
-needing to snack often just to stabilize mood.... the school even has special snacks and snack times set up for her
-she has recently become very aware of the sugar content in everything all on her own... don't know if this could be because of wanting to care for her braces or something else
-after a 6 hour fast cause a snack was needed blood sugar this morning is 90
Diabetes runs thick in my family and her fathers side but mostly in the adults. I never really paid much attention to whats normal and not as right now I am the only one without so I guess i'm just a lostmom on this subject
