I got remission from type 2 db in 6 weeks using Prof Roy Taylor's weight loss method, then gradually put some of the weight back on. However by this time I was low carbing most of the time. I then found I was very sensitive to carbs. [ Physiological Insulin Resistance ] I am happy to stay low carb and otherwise eat freely, in the comforting knowledge that my blood sugars are being kept low .
I need advice about my ankle wound which has not healed after 6 weeks. Waiting for dermatology appt. Doctors say it is not diabetic ulcer. Had blisters on both feet which have now dried. Pain at night, living on co codamol 30/500

Hi @STEELSHARK and welcome to the forums.

I've got to say that looks scary and very painful. Lots of virtual hugs.

Though it may not be a diabetic ulcer I can't help thinking that diabetes may have an impact on how quickly it heals?

We aren't able to give medical advice on the forums so I'm not sure how much help we can be but other members who have had leg/foot injuries may be able to give you insights from their experiences.

Can I ask how recently a medical practitioner has seen your injury and what type of diabetes you have? (If I had an injury like that I would expect it to raise my blood sugars and I would need to adjust my diabetic medication. Are you getting and help/advice on its impact on your diabetes?)

Once more lots of virtual hugs.

If you are in the UK, please get yourself to the nearest hospital A&E as soon as you can. If in another country, then go to the appropriate emergency room. Those feet need professional help as soon as possible.

Hi,

When did you last see an HCP.? This needs attention. Fast.. We can’t diagnose on this forum.

Best wishes getting the appropriate help.
