hi my names Nathan im 17 and ive been wanting a license for a few months now but i don't know what my hba1c has to be and do u need doctors permission for a license

Ok. Because you're on insulin you'll need to fill out extra forms as mentioned above. You don't need your doctor's permission to drive, but the DVLA may contact your doctor if they need information from them.

Phone the DVLA or print off the forms from their website. You'll need to fill in the Diabetes form as well as the normal application. If you need help, give the DVLA a call :)
 
Theres no a1c requirement either, just limit on number of hypos where you've needed assistance, need to have hypo awareness.
