Symptoms i have had , the occasional need to pee more often , recurrent thrush , the shakes and no energy at work and at my allotment and running out of steam.
I had a blood test at my GP and it came back OK . I wasn't convinced so had a test done at the pharmacy and the results were

Non fasting 7.3 . I had a coffee for breakfast 2 hrs before the test .
Fasting 6.3

I have been referred back to GP's

Is this anything to worry about ?

Cheers Simon

Sounds a little high for a non-diabetic, but you need to get your GP to do proper tests. Don't know what the GP did before, but an HbA1c test looks at how your blood has averaged over the previous month or so and is fairly definitive, so ask for that. It's a simple blood test, but you may need to go to the local hospital/clinic to get it done after referral by the GP.

Hi Simon,

Nothing to add to what Grazer has said but just to say hi and welcome. I am prediabetic and have learnt so much from (mainly lurking!) on this forum.

So try not to worry and just find out a bit more what is going on.

Best wishes

Easy way for you to check - reduce your carbs (bread/potatoes/rice/pasta, etc...) for a fortnight and see if you feel better?
