advice on bringing levels down after binge

Last night I went over to the dark side.

This morning I am ridden with guilt and want to be a good diabetic again. Does anybody have any tips or tricks to get my levels back down asap? E.g. If I drank lots of water would that help? or anything else I could do?

I suspect I know the answer already, but still, worth a try!!!

I have been tempted on the odd occasion to slip over to the darkside myself when ive been feeling down, but always manage to pull myself out of it, I have a pack of wine gums in the cupboard which I have been desperate to eat, but they are still there.

I have heard that drinking water and a long walk can help bring sugars down so maybe try that, and next time you feel the urge try to think about how it will affect you later, this may help you to resist, though I know how you feel sometimes.

Ha ha - I will drink the water when I get back!!

Thanks for your responses - stilll keen to hear if anybody else has any ideas - surely I am not the only one to do this? :o

Hi jecky,
You are not the first and will not be the last to have a binge day.
Get back on the wagon and up your fluid intake and exercise and things should return to normal pretty soon. It will probably take 24hrs.+ before you notice a downward trend in sugar levels if the binge was enormous. We are all human and it can happen to any of us.
