Hi,I have never posted before and was diagnosed Type 2 in June of this year. I did not seem to have any symptoms other than weight loss (from 84kilos to 70kgs)) and an infection that would not clear up. A random blood sugar test by pathology showed my HbA1c as 16.6, and hence the diagnosis. My last blood test showed that it has reduced to 8.6 which my doctor is pleased with however my daily testing has only shown improvement since I started cutting down my carbs. I am currently taking 4x 500mgs metformin daily. My doctor seems to think that I may be LADA however said that while ever my reading were coming down that she did not see the point in doing further testing. My morning BGs are normally around 9 -10 and 2 hours after food anywhere from 9 to 14. I will see her again in 3 months and hopefully I will have gained a little more control by then. I don't know if I should see an endocronologist or not... my doctor is very approachable and seems confident but I just want to make sure I am on the right track. Thank you for any advice .
