Hi,
This is my 1st post so apologies if its in the wrong place.

I am just after a bit of advice. My husband has had type 1 for 2 years which developed after a nasty bout of severe acute pancreatitis. He had peripheral neuropathy after very long hospital stay which has got progressively worse. He does have very good control of his sugar levels but now we are wondering if he has started to develop autonomic neuropathy. Could this be the case even if he doesn't have hypers?
Any advice greatly received.
Thank you.

The swallowing could well be, but there are other causes of difficulty swallowing including acid reflux etc. Perhaps you should take him to the doctor...

Firstly Don't Panic, e chances your husband has Autonomic Neuropathy is very very low indeed,

Go to your husbands Diabetic Team and discuss your concerns, do this as amatter of urgency, only so as to put your minds at rest,

Again Do Not PANIC. !

Now read my recently closed ( LOCKED ) thread TERMINAL and SCARED, Don't worry, very very few cases end like mine, and only after years and years of neglect, plus I have many many other health issues, yes I am dying, but i really doubt you need to worry, go see your husbands GP, and hiz Diabetes Team, They will soon put your mind at rest, on a treatment process, diet etc. That will mean him living a very long and healthy life,

Again don't Panic even for a second, I'm sure your husband and you will have NOTHING to worry about.

With Warmest Regards.

Love and. Hugs.

Kevin. and. Wendie.

xxx.

PS. Sent you a very short PM too !
