Hi there folks. I've been diagnosed with Type 2 for approximately 10 years and until recently was under good conrol on SR metformin (1000mg x2). When my 3 monthly test went above target I was given Gliclazide as an addition. My sugar levels were OK but due to problems with my colon the hospital recommended reducing the metformin. This solved my diarhea problem but I have since put on weight and my cholestral and blood pressures increased. As a result I have reduced my carbs and my meal portions and have lost 10 lbs in the last few weeks. My statin dose has also been doubled ( Simvastatin 20mg) and I have been prescribed additional blood pressure tablets.( My usual Perindopil +Indapamide). As well as increased heart rate/ palpitations which wake me up in the early hours, my pre meal blood checks are elevated to 11.1---9.5 etc. I have contacted my GP's surgery for advice and am waiting for a reply but have been feeling so grotty/ unwell I wondered if anyone else has experienced similar. I'm not sure if it's the increased statin dose or the Indapamide that are causing my symptoms. Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks
