Hi all,
I have been diagnosed for about 5 weeks now. I started on 1 x Metaforin 500g twice a day. My BG after the first two weeks went down from 17.3 to 12.1. On my second visit to the DN she increase my Metaforin to 1 x 500g in the morning and 2 x 500g in the evening. I was also given 1 x Glicalazide 80g tablet to take with my evening meal. Now my BG levels have come right down and my bedtime read is anything from 5 to 6.7 which I don't think is to bad. But when I test first thing in the morning it is reading between 7.1 and 8.6. I am confused why this is happening, I am sure that I am not raiding the fridge in my sleep. I have taken the advise on lowering my carbs, I try to have them in only my evening meal and in very small amounts ie 4 small new potatoes. I am over weight but have already lost 17lbs. I am worried that when I see the DN she will want to increase my tablets again which is not the route that I wish to take. Or am just being silly as I am only five weeks into this journey. Thanks for reading.
