Hi
I'm currently using the GlucoRx Nexus BG monitor. I'm T2 and therefore unable to get anything for testing on prescription, however, I signed up to the type2testing scheme and what a difference! Monitoring is making great choices easier to make, particularly when I'm finding odd things affect my BG. Over the last week or so my results have been in the correct range for the first time. Monitoring is clearly a good idea for me and is helping manage my diabetes.
I pay £29.99 a quarter for the scheme and get 100 test strips a quarter which I'm finding isn't enough. I'm doing staggered testing but it's costing a small fortune and I'm out of strips again. Does anyone have recommendations for meters/test strips which might work out more affordable? I know that I'll be testing less (hopefully) after a time once I get a really good handle on things, however, could do with paying less in the meantime.
I don't need bells and whistles, just easy to use and a little less costly.
Thanks!

I just paid £58.85 for 500 strips for my SD Codefree meter from
https://homehealth-uk.com
using the discount codes below.
5 packs = 264086
10 packs = 975833
Hope that helps.
The discount codes don't apply to the price until almost the end of the process.
Obviously you'll need to buy the SD Codefree meter too..
