I was diagnosed four months ago, tried Metformin and couldn't tolerate it (not even the SR). The threat of insulin injections is hanging over me but at the moment I am controlling my T2 with a low carb diet and exercise and it has been well controlled for three months (at around 6.7).
However, over the past few days it has slowly risen to 7.7 and I am still following the same diet and exercise plan. I have not been sleeping well for a few days and have been under considerable stress - could this be the cause of my increased blood glucose? I am due to have an Hb1AC next week and will be seeing the nurse for the result.... I know she will be concerned about the sudden hike, it would be good if I can offer some sort of explanation!

You're in that phase of BS "control" and stress reigns; hence the disrupted sleep. The HBA1C will be what it will be but those figures aren't too bad at all Dilute any excess sugars, heaps of water and stay on your path. 4 months in, your body is still adjusting so ease up a bit. You'll be good

I agree. Stress releases cortisol and cortisol is known to raise bg. Sleep disturbance certainly raises my bg and it is days before I regain better levels. If it is only a few days of sleep disturbance this shouldn't affect your HbA1c too much but I would certainly tell your dn when the test is being done.
