As a type 2 on a low carb diet I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

I use erythritol if sweetening is required in baking, and liquid stevia for drinks.

PS if your griddle cakes, etc can be made with flour alternatives, e.g. ground almonds, coconut flour, sesame seed flour then you should be OK, but defintely test!
