Ageing and Complications Query

Hi all. I’m having a debate on another forum and as this forum is one of the better ones, I thought I’d ask the same questions on here:

1. Is it inevitable that blood sugar levels rise with age?

2. Is it also inevitable that if you’ve had high blood sugar for a period (discussed was 2-3 years) that it would have had some negative effect on blood vessels I.e. your heart which could lead to complications?

Seems to rise about 0.1% old money each decade.

Great graph, thanks! Actually correlates spot on with my hba1c results over time strangely (33 when I was about 18YO and 35 today at 39YO)
