For a while my tolerance levels have been dropping and the after effects getttin much worse. I am hazarding a guess that this coincided with the diabetes. Is this common? Have to say its quite good cos nights out are much cheaper now :p

That old adage may come into play as well...? You know the classic "I can't handle this like I could in my youth".?

(Cough.) suddenly realising what I just wrote.. So, earm... You like horses as well....?

I've been brought up around them & seen one drunk on fermented windfall apples...

Is it because you've reduced the amount you drink? I used to have a small glass with my evening meal most nights. It obviously had to stop.
I didn't drink anything for a couple of months but the consultant said I could have a couple of glasses a week but best not to have them on the same night. I feel tipsy after 1 small glass. If I have 2 then the effects last for ages and I have to drink lots of water. However it is nice to be 3-4 clothes sizes smaller......

Being as the mind pic of a drunken horse has brought a smile to my face i shall forgive the insinuation that I am not still youthful :p

Scandichic, I havent reduced the amount I drink. Or should I say I havent voluntarily reduced it, just cant handle it for some reason. I get STUPIDLY drunk on about half the amount I could drink a few months ago. It IS a good thing i suppose as less calories and less cost. I just wondered if anyone else had found the same and if it was down to the diabetes. I refuse to accept it as an age thing

Yep, that's it... Lol this particular mare was clumsy at the best of times.
But watching it negotiate a muddy field after raiding an orchard made this animal clearly unfit for the road...

My guess is if your not drinking as much as you did pre-diabetes then you'll notice the effects of alcohol more, tbh I've never noticed any difference, I was diagnosed aged 18 and drinking and nightclubs/pubs were my life back then :)
