Allergic reaction to levimir

Hi everyone.
I recently swapped over to levimir from lantus. Lantus just wasn't cutting it as I have diff requirements of long acting at diff times of the day.
I was on levimir before, but had to stop using it as I had a skin reaction to it.
A couple of hours after injection, I get a small raised red bump, with some hardness under the skin.
They itch,but only a little.
Unfortunately, it's happening again
I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this, and if so, is there anything, (other than antihistamines which I'm already using), that can help? Maybe longer needles or other meds?
Thanks!

Hi Yes ditto, ‘Microdot’ silicone coated needles 8 mm worked the best for me. Not perfect but better than the others. Interestingly I switched to a pump this year and have no problem with this.

I've been prescribed bd viva 6mm needles. Just waiting for the script to be ready so I can get them.
I've had to go back onto lantus for now, as I was running out of injection sites that weren't lumpy or red
If the 6mm ones don't work, I will suggest the ones u have mentioned, to my DSN. Thank you for replying

Fingers crossed for you, bd viva gave me red marble like lumps, I think the silicone coating on Microdot made the difference for me. Do make a fuss if bd viva don’t work for you as I am sure this caused some absorption problems for me.

I will do. Did you get the microdot ones on prescription?
