ally1,s BS levels

bluetit, mum knows i,m diabetic and she knows what i should and shouldn,t eat
ultimatly its down to me not to eat sweet or carb stuff

Berries and double cream, as others have said. Meat and cheese too. Take a stock of 85% chocolate and burgen bread (I limit bread to a slice a day on week days when I'm at work. I put fish on it). In September, lunch on the INSET day at school was a Jacob's join. I took plenty of salad, olives and feta cheese. There was quite a spread there ... None of it suitable for me. I visualised it all as poison for me and sat smugly whilst everyone ate it lol! A little mental conditioning was a big help! I'm a former pizza holic so it was a big deal!
Well done Ally!!

Yep well done ally! I expect they are better than mine now :) (I haven't tested because I feel ill, that's my excuse)

Ally - Is there any help you would like before you go away? I'm sort of thinking about things like puddings that don't require a lot of cooking, or snacks you can nibble on that won't be too carb-heavy, but help you feel you're joining in?

I know you say staying on-track is up to you, and of course it is, but being with family who know the score, but don't really understand the impact must be hard - especially when I'm sure you don't want to do anything that might lessen your family's enjoyment of the festivities.

(Easy, no cook puddings would be of extreme interest to me too, playmates!! I can cook, but I don't want to get under Mr B's feet as he does his thing in the kitchen.)

Rather than making suggestions for puddings on here, could any contributors post here:

Thanks in anticipation.

Off the supermarket shelf nibbles as opposed to snacks would be of interest to me, too. I can't eat nuts and don't like olives! I normally gorge on cheese straws and cheese footballs at Christmas.

I started a thread, so as not to derail Ally's thread.

being in the 5,s was a great feeling, hope it lasts

HI Ally, it will last as long as you stick to what you are doing I'm sure. The feelings are great when it all starts to come together.

Do you manage any exercise, like walking, I started parking further away from where I want to be, like going to Tesco's I 'll park if I can, at the furthest point from the store and I think it's all this extra walking is making a difference.
