Almond flour

Interesting link. Thanks for posting it.

I think my reaction is that none of the reasons listed are going to stop me using almond flour - since I use it in moderation, and in reasonable portions. Variation in diet is extremely important to me, and I definitely don't want to eat the same things over and over again across the month - so I wouldn't be having anything like problematic amounts of almonds (or any nut). But then I could say that about any ingredient in my cooking.

I did find it interesting that the author received two comments challenging her opinions (at the bottom of the article) - and promptly decided to turn the comments off! :)

I have seen that article before.

I have made delischous herbed crackers and muffins with almond flour. My problem was they were way too addicting so I stopped making them.

You can say that about any nut and I still eat various nuts in moderation. Nuts and seeds have some good nutrients. They just have a be portion controlled IMO

Can someone advise if almond flour is good or bad for health. My understanding that it is good until I see the following link which says not good.

The author is a food blogger who is quoting other bloggers for her source material, There is no source that links back to what I would term 'proper research'. Having said that I did find some of her assertions to be somewhat dubious, but the conclusion about using moderation is a sensible point to make anyway. I use almond flour occasionally for making pizza bases, but do not make pancakes anyway. I think the point about coconut flouur is valid too, but it is more expensive and has a distinct taste that does not suit savoury dishes like pizza.

I found three floors very less in carbohydrates. 1) almond flour 2) flaxseed meal 3) coconut flour. But when you say to eat in moderation, what quantity are we talking about?

Good question, and because I am not a baker, it is one I cannot answer. We have a pizza about once every 2 weeks or so, otherwise do not use flour at all.

First impression is wacky rather than scientific.
