Does anyone know if almond flour and ground almonds are the same thing?. Got a few things I want to make but almond flour is so expensive can get ground almonds so much cheaper.
 
Hi I don't think it is , I grind almonds in the food processor and you get almond butter. I whip double cream the fold in the almond butter to taste. Makes a great loc carb dessert, but not very good if you need to loose wgt
 
I was thinking could you do that with peanut butter? A bit rich but a little bit at a time would be nice don't you think.
Maybe add coconut or dry fruit. An idea for a treat.
 
I don't like peanut butter, but would make a dessert similar to almond butter. I'd be careful with the dried fruit, alot of sugar in it , so could cause a spike. As for coconut, I add it with some cocnut oil into greek yoghurt. Its a bit sad but I also eat cocnut oil directly from the jar as a suppliment. As you can guess I like coconut .
As for your almond flour , i think you will be stuck with having to buy it

Almond flour and ground almonds are the exact same thing - lots of us here use it all the time :)

It's the same. I buy ground almonds from Indian shops at £6 for 800 g.

If you buy coconut flour be careful not to buy "fine dessicated" - it does work but does not thicken as well. It's about £3 per Kg in the Indian shops.
