Alogliptin 25mg?

when I went for my annual check up for my Diabetes with my designated diabetic GP last year. He suggested I am to be put on this Alogliptin 25mg to try and help me to lose some weight. I haven't lost any weight but have put more on. I am due my next annual visit with him next month and wondered if anyone else has had this prescribed too with some effects. I haven't eaten in excess or eaten the wrong things. I am a bit hesitant to go although I will because it is very important.

According to a couple of websites, I've just looked at, it doesn't by itself lose you weight. It is an dpp4 inhibitor. It helps lower blood glucose levels.

I would have that discussion with your GP!

But, if you want to lose weight, I would recommend low carbing.
