A new device developed by a team of researchers in Israel, however, can reveal much the same information as traditional blood test in real-time, simply by shining a light through the skin. This optical instrument, no bigger than a breadbox, is able to provide high-resolution images of blood coursing through our veins without the need for harsh and short-lived fluorescent dyes.

Wonder if this would work on eyes? Can't see why not . Can't be more intenst than some of the lights they use for eye treatment.
Thanks Jim for finding all this info. Nice to know that things are constantly improving.

My pleasure, almost, like to share some good news... especially after the second eye op a week ago... not quite so bad this time and so far so good no effects it seems... my plan now is to try to get the old BP down a bit and tighten the BG even more... have had the invite letter to see nursey for the HbA1c... the tremblings have begun already... 8)

It would be good if you wear some specs with a built in BG etc monitor, maybe could even make it a continuous one with alarms... given what a "growth" business DM has become surely this would be worth a few hundred million quids R&D backing methinks?
Personal monitoring is literally a pain... especially when you have to jab twice because the callouses are building up...
