Hello everyone

Is there any other ways other than insulin (and exercise, which I'm doing) to lower blood sugars?

Hi. If you are diagnosed as a T1 then insulin is probably essential for you, but the dose might vary depending on your body weight and the degree of islet cell failure e.g. you may be in a honeymoon period. Exercise and a low-carb diet will all help to keep the insulin dose down but not eliminate it.

Thanks Diabell. I have been T1 for 15 years. I know that insulin is essential but was just wondering if there was other things that take it down. I am on a low carb diet just now and my insulin dose is much lower than it has ever been.

Hi @jord, what is your current insulin dose ? I am also looking some alternative approach to decrease the insulin dose.
Currently I am doing some experiment on my body by taking herbal product like this

But I have started it recently. So I cannot tell you , how much it is effective. If you have any good tips, then please share with us.

Beside injected insulin the only thing I've noticed to lower my BS, other than strenuous exercise, is sauerkraut. I've tried all the 'alternative approaches' such as cinnamon, resistance starch, fenugreek etc etc which may improve insulin sensitivity in some but didn't work for me.

Exercise beats them all by a long way and has a predictable outcome. I run , row , lift weights and cycle. Cycling has the best results by far.

Hi @Wurst, Thanks for sharing your finding with us. I completely agree with you. I have also found that walking, running and Cycling is the best sugar killer exercise. I am also giving per day 2 hours for this.
