I have just been to see the diabetes nurse at the surgery and my repeat fasting blood glucose was 4.5. Then she noticed that my previous blood test had two test results for the fasting blood glucose - 12 and 4.7. My HbA1c was 58.
She rang up the lab and there may have been a mistake with one of the test results - dont know which one though!
So apparently I may be prone to diabetes but I cant be diagnosed as I have had a normal glucose test.
But that doesnt explain why I have a raised HbA1c - unless that was a lab error too...

Seems to be a real mixup.
I would wait until you get the true results confirmed.

That's not very good is it? Poor you.

Have you got a meter that you can test yourself?
Or Lloyds pharmacies offer testing, as do many others.

It may give you something to go on until you find out for sure

I have been told to maintain a low sugar / low carb diet and get tested again in 3 months...

Just got a call... the lab results were faulty... I am not diabetic - but they will check everything in 3 months just to be safe..
