Given i appear to have the symptoms and my mother is T2 i bought a testing kit to check before heading of to the doctors, the results are as follow which appear to confirm my worst fears. I tested myself before breakfast and hear are my daily readings , 7.0,9.4,8.7,8.6,8.0,9.5 can you confirm for me i am diabetic , how bad is it and confirm i have to get to the doctors.

Many Thanks

Were all these reading fasting?
Or had you eat something before testing?

Are those readings all fasting readings? Bg needs to be done before food & after to see how it affects you.

None of us can 'confirm' you are diabetic, you would need to see a doctor for that :)

Hi I am also T2 you cant tell from just random checks you need to have a fresh day test first thing before you take anything, then you need to eat and drink as normal then then take another test this will give you a truer reading. You should really do the doctors test which means fasting 1st then have blood tests you will know for sure

Hi,
Seeing as you have a blood meter.
Test on waking, test before a meal & then approx 2 hours later on each meal.. Test before bed.
Keep a record of each meal & the times of tests. Like a diary..
Take your records when you go see your doctor who will run some tests..

As mentioned before. No one can diagnose you on this forum..

Good luck!

Go to the doctors. Don't self diagnosis online, last time I did that I thought I had a couple of months to live! I'm still here :) go to the doctors!

Can I just ask (as I'm a little confused) - your profile says you are type 2 on Metformin?

I was given this by my doctor a year ago , but then told i did not need to take it after a test, but the symptoms have returned so i will be returning to see her . I got the kit to test myself as i wanted to find out what my levels were and if they indicated i was diabetic , is metformin bad for you ?

Metformin used for diabetic treatment & BS managment will increase insulin sensitivity & stop the liver dumping glycogen into the mix.
Which you now mention you were prescribed..
The question you should have asked regarding the information that has come to light on last post quote above needs amending to "am I still diabetic?" o_O

Good news on the doctor..
When you were prescribed metformin for two months, did you implement any dietary changes during this time? Like cutting sugars & carbohydrate..?
