How do you define illness? I think of diabetes/hypoglycaemia as more of a 'condition' or 'disease' as you said. I have Addisons Disease, Hashimoto's Disease and have suffered from depression in the past but I've never thought of myself as ill (though I guess depression is a mental illness) .. these are conditions/diseases I live with and providing I take my meds and increase Addisons meds if I'm sick, then I cruise along just fine.
So to me these are 'conditions' as opposed to illnesses. Your friends are likely envious of the new trim, taut and terrific new you!
I agree Douglas, sometimes life's blessings come wrapped up in the shittiest of packages - as you say, if you hadn't been diagnosed you might be dead!Actually I had a 'mate' whose idea of a diet was to stand next to me. It was so funny when I lost 4 stone and stood next to him.
I still think being diagnosed was a positive life changing moment, otherwise I'd still be way over the obese BMI, and dead of a heart attack or stroke shortly.
Thanks mate! It was a kick in the b...s!No mate you are absolutely not in denial, and you are also not ill. Your weightloss and vastly improved health is not a symptom of an illness it's a result of you choosing to get the better of your condition. Keep fighting the good fight mate, you're doing great
