Hi I would like some help just been to gp who said bgs11 14s consistently is perfect control the tingling in my feet is not damaging just me being sensitive to bgs the hospital advised 4injections Aday as opposed to 2 humulin mark 2 injections the gp however said my readings were low I would be more likely to get hypos on a different med I feel fobbed of again should I go back yet again or just put up and shut up
Hi I'm a newbie so don't know much but your bgs sound high to me, I'd be worried too if I were you, sorry for the lack of advice, good luck hopefully someone more knowledgable than me will come along
Hi. If I read your posting correctly you say you gets bloods in the range 11 - 14 mmol? This is far too high and your GP is wrong if that is what your post said. The hospital is obviously trying to help you get them down. You should be aiming to always stay below something like 8.5. What was your last HBa1C as meter readings of 11 -1 4 would be pushing your HBa1C above NICE limits and it will be easier to get your GP to take action if your HBa1C is above 7.5%. The GP saying tingling in the feet is just being sensitive to blood glucose is nonsense and I would try to find another GP if you can or use the hospital clinic if you can.
Your gp is giving you bad advice. 11 to 14 is too high. At the very least he should be advising single figures. Tingling as a sensitivity issue is utter nonsense. Your best course here sounds like your hospital. If I was getting that advice I would be researching a new doctor.
Agree with the others, you are getting bad advice from your doctor, your not alone in this, seams that some doctors are ignoring diabetics, I put mine in this group of providing lack of care to us.
Regarding the tingling in the feet this could be the start of nerve damage, and I would make an appointment to have your feet checked. Some symptoms of nerve damage can be pins and needles, also get the feeling in the feet that they are hot, burning or cold.
