Am I progressing to meds?

I was diagnosed with GD when pregnant with my baby girl in 2012, when she was born I was retested and told I was more likely to be LADA.

Although my GAD levels were extremely high, my bloods were generally good and it was usually my fasting that was a problem.
In the last few days, my after meals have gone from 5 or 6 to over 8, I'm not eating anything different to normal. Does this mean I'm on my way to Insulin?

Probably not yet, you probably already know lada is classed as progressive, but how long, who knows, no set answer. Although 8~9 is high, using insulin would probably cause you to hypo alot. Would be with discussing with your gp\nurse about higher levels as oral meds could be prescribed top help the insulin you are producing work more efficiently and reduce numbers.

Re: Am I progressing to meds?

Hi. As a LADA you probably will progress to insulin but that might weeks or years. Yes, you would normally start with tablets first and I was on three before insulin and that was over a period of 8 years. I finally went onto insulin when my Hba1C went over 8% even with quite low-carbing, so you and the GP need to keep an eye on the HBa1C and have meds accordingly.
