Am I the only one?

I am type 1 of over 30 years, and having recently been put onto the Libre monitor I have been watching the data with interest. To keep things reasonably in balance I now find the insulin ratio's between morning and evening need to be different. I use Novorapid and Levermir. Currently finding that I need to use 2.5 units Novo to 10 cho in morning, and 24 units Levermir, and from lunchtime change the ratio to 2 units Novo. to 10 cho, and also changing the evening Levermir to 22 units. Juggling act, and on top of that the absorption rate seems to vary wildly not only from site to site ( yes, I avoid over use of any sites), some days it's like the insulin plain hasn't kicked in, others it drops very fast before the food kicks in.
Also long standing use of Metformin to counter resistance, if I forget that, which can happen, the insulin basically doesn't work.
Anyone else coping with this sort of issue?
I also have ongoing blood pressure issues with a raft of medications too.

It is very common to have different bolus and basal needs at different times of the day.
Many of us are more insulin resistant first thing in the morning due to Dawn Phenomenon.
As for different basal needs - this is why some of us have insulin pumps. We can change our basal needs every 30 minutes of the day.

So, to answer the question you posed in your title: You are definitely NOT the only one.

Interesting, because , like many things diabetic, one seems to be left to find out the hard way !.

The Libre has been an amazing window for what actually happens with levels. Not what a minute in time blood test was showing. Always knew I had variation of needs but Libre really showed it. Like many people morning requirements are higher than evening. So no you are not alone. You are now just more aware and will find it easier to control.
