Hello everyone,
I was diagnosed with type 1 DM few months ago, if anyone remember me..
Anyway, yesterday I forgot to take my basal insulin before sleeping, when I woke up I measured my BG to find it 120 mg/dl which is equal to 6.67 mmol/L, lower than my daily readings with insulin .
Is it better to take the basal insulin now, or to wait for the next dose at night?

Nb: today i woke-up @12:00PM while everyday am woking-up at 7:00AM , So the timing of readings are different.

Hello,
Which type of basal are u taking and how many units?

U said u r taking it normally at night .. but at what time?

I was taking Lantus, but I just switched to Traseiba two days ago.

12 U at bedtime , So it’s from 10 PM to 12 AM .

Then, u can skip the basal dose u missed and take it tonight possibly 2 hours earlier than usual..
Also, u may need to measure before meals to make sure everything is fine.

Tresiba profile lasts for around 36 hours and as u r taking relatively small amount - honeymoon, I guess- then u r fine to go but this is on exceptional basis of course :)

That’s what I did, everything was fine until 2 hours ago when I measured my BG & found it 270 mg/dl . I should have taken The basal dose earlier as you said .

Thank youu
