G'day all, This is not an advertisement just my story. I am here to tell you that I have amazing results and I am out of the information overload (fog). After more than a decade and running the gauntlet from diet and exercise through tablets to 130 units of insulin in 4 jabs per day, I changed Diabetes Specialist and I am now on 4 Diabex tabs per day and no insulin jabs and it took only one week to effect the change. I thought my new specialist was "having a lend of me" but he was absolutely correct and I have lost weight without having to reduce meal sizes. This is cutting edge stuff and it cleared the info fog for me. The diet change is simple no major carbs = zero major carbs despite claims of low GI all major carbs have to go and be replaced by other veges. Major carbs are anything grain related, potato, sweet potato, sugars of any kind and limited fruit. How it works or does not work Carbs trigger high blood sugar and your trigger point changes with your level of overweight. So you just have to keep under your tolerance level for carbs. But for example halving your carbs does not halve the problem because your trigger level is like lighting a fire with a match - no match no fire. No carbs no rocketing blood sugar but half normal carbs (lo GI) and no change. Simply stop eating major carbs - when your weight gets down far enough you can add some carbs because your tolerance will have increased. Ultimately we need carbs and a range of other things in correct proportions so we have to be careful about excesses and deficiencies. The problem is this is a lifestyle change so we need alternative foods. We need nut flours to replace wheat flours for bakery products and of course sweeteners instead of sugar. Nut flours do not have gluten to stick bakery products together so I use olive oil and gelatin for cakes or grated cheese for a flat bread. Pumpkin and zucchini instead of potato. Others use excessive mounts of eggs to hold flour products together but excesses can cause other long term health problems. Please feel free to ask for more info.
