Getting old and everything that goes with it. All the repeats on TV. The drongos who ring me up to sell me things. Religious havens for pedophiles and war-mongers.
G'day all, This is not an advertisement just my story.

I am here to tell you that I have amazing results and I am out of the information overload (fog).

After more than a decade and running the gauntlet from diet and exercise through tablets to 130 units of insulin in 4 jabs per day, I changed Diabetes Specialist and I am now on 4 Diabex tabs per day and no insulin jabs and it took only one week to effect the change.

I thought my new specialist was "having a lend of me" but he was absolutely correct and I have lost weight without having to reduce meal sizes.

This is cutting edge stuff and it cleared the info fog for me.

The diet change is simple no major carbs = zero major carbs despite claims of low GI all major carbs have to go and be replaced by other veges.

Major carbs are anything grain related, potato, sweet potato, sugars of any kind and limited fruit.

How it works or does not work
Carbs trigger high blood sugar and your trigger point changes with your level of overweight.

So you just have to keep under your tolerance level for carbs. But for example halving your carbs does not halve the problem because your trigger level is like lighting a fire with a match - no match no fire. No carbs no rocketing blood sugar but half normal carbs (lo GI) and no change.

Simply stop eating major carbs - when your weight gets down far enough you can add some carbs because your tolerance will have increased.

Ultimately we need carbs and a range of other things in correct proportions so we have to be careful about excesses and deficiencies.

The problem is this is a lifestyle change so we need alternative foods.

We need nut flours to replace wheat flours for bakery products and of course sweeteners instead of sugar.
Nut flours do not have gluten to stick bakery products together so I use olive oil and gelatin for cakes or grated cheese for a flat bread.
Pumpkin and zucchini instead of potato. Others use excessive mounts of eggs to hold flour products together but excesses can cause other long term health problems.

Please feel free to ask for more info.

Congratulations on your success. Many of us have also had similar results following variations of the low carb diet. Glad to hear that at least one diabetic specialist seems to have got the message too. You really lucked out by finding a progressive doctor.

Thanks Indy,

I see you are T2 but I am not sure tho that the majority of weight loss fanatics can get a handle on good health, They seem to think it is political and we can talk our bodies into compliance with the way we want things to be.

Hi Forge, and welcome to the Forum. You are extremely lucky to have found a specialist that supports low carb. I just wonder how long it will be before the NHS realise that their dietary advice is all wrong for T2 diabetics.

Thanks Marilyn.

The ice has been cracked now the pros can fine tune it.

I had a consultation with my heart specialist last Thursday and he put me back on anti coagulants that I was taken off, and it became even more obvious that total health care is beyond General Practitioners. So part timers like us need to tread warily, the obvious is not always the wisest. .

My heart specialist explained a few issues that had been overlooked.
