Thankyou so much I honestly feel so judged now by the achole thing it was just one time I drink for social gatherings that's it I don't drink everyday now I think everyone thinks I don't but I won't be again that's for sure I got a blood test tomorrow so I shall post how my results are when I get them back thanks you so much for you reply !Hi and welcome @Winter94
Don't worry, I won't be nagging you about alcohol consumption. I don't know of a 23 year old who reacts well to that - or who actually lets on how much they really drink.
However, I will say that hypoglycaemia and alcohol are a BAD combination. The lower the hypo and the more numerous the drinks, the worse it gets. Same for quite a few recreational drugs, if you are into those too.
Since you have appointments for further investigations into your hypos, I think it is far to early to talk about Reactive Hypoglycaemia. There are other things (including food intolerances and various health conditions) which can cause hypos or anxiety, or both, after certain foods. So I suggest that you see what your doctors say about the tests.
If you are interested in finding out more about RH then Wikipedia has a good intro on the subject, and there is an RH section here on the forum, where lots of us control the RH mainly by diet. But I wouldn't want to suggest that you have RH until your docs have done some proper investigations and eliminated a few other possibilities first.
Hope you are feeling better though - and I hope the medical investigations go well and give you a clear diagnosis.
Just don't give up. If they try and brush you off by blaming anxiety, then keep pushing. You deserve better than to be fobbed off like that.
If I have anything really with sugar or drinks with sugar I mainly get very shaky and heart racing somtiems even if I eat a lot off carbs just so you know I'm not a major drinker it's only in a blue moon I will have a drink if there is an event going onWinter, when you say when you eat "certain foods" you experience these symptoms, what are those foods and could you simply avoid them for a while and see if that helps how you feel? In some people a food intolerance can really hit hard, with all sorts of symptoms.
@Brunneria also what does RH stand for sorry as I'm not sureHi and welcome @Winter94

Aww thank you so much
It is reactive hypoglycaemia - which is a form of blood glucose dysregulation where peoploe experience high and low blood glucose but do not necessarily have diabetes.
You're not being judged; people read the wodka thing, and knew that with regular hypo's, that can be very dangerous. So they/we were just concerned, not judgy. And hey, you put it into context, no worries.Thankyou so much I honestly feel so judged now by the achole thing it was just one time I drink for social gatherings that's it I don't drink everyday now I think everyone thinks I don't but I won't be again that's for sure I got a blood test tomorrow so I shall post how my results are when I get them back thanks you so much for you reply !
I'm going to buy and meter tomorrow also I'veYou're not being judged; people read the wodka thing, and knew that with regular hypo's, that can be very dangerous. So they/we were just concerned, not judgy. And hey, you put it into context, no worries.
Have you considered getting or borrowing a bloodglucose meter? If you feel anxious after certain foods you can check what's going on in your bloodsugar levels. Good luck, in any case!
I don't know much of anything about reactive hypoglycemia, if that one's on the table. So all I can tell you is there's a test called MMTT (Mixed meal tolerance test). Takes half a day, but it might provide answers. So might what your glucometer will tell you. Test before a meal, and normally I'd say, two hours after first bite... But testing after an hour, two hours, and three hours might tell you, and your gp, more at this moment. For now that might be an idea, for a day or two? (I'm counting on someone to chime in and tell me I'm either right, or an idiot.I'm going to buy and meter tomorrow also I've
Been reading and you have to have certain test done as some will not pick up the hypoglycaemia?
Hi, I have a type of hypoglycaemia called ' Late Reactive Hypoglycaemia'. I am not diabetic!I'm going to buy and meter tomorrow also I've

I am glad you mentioned the alcohol intake on that one occasion because it might explain or at least might have contributed to the low BSL(going on internet searches on the subject and subject to medical opinion)). As dreadful as the whole experience sounds you at least have the low blood sugar theme to follow up. Another rare thing I have heard of is Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. (see Wikipedia) That may be another lead to follow up with your doctor if BSLs/hypoglycaemia does not pan out as a cause. Best Wishes.Hi thankyou so much for your reply I rarely drink it was a one off occasion as it was a gathering I'm 23 also I don't drive I get these symptoms daily without achole just when I drank the achole it was the worse I have ever felt because normally I don't drink I feel like everyone now thinks I'm am an acholic it was only that time sorry for the confusion I feel like I Shoukdnt have wrote it
