Animas pump occlusion

I just got back from a trip to Vienna and on my way out after passing through the security gate my pump just stopped working. It kept coming up with occlusion detected and wouldn't infuse the insulin after repeatadly re-priming the tubing (and replacing infusion set and battery). My letter from the clinic says that the security gate is fine for the pump- it is the x-ray machine on the conveyer belt that isn't.....so I called animas and they have said that my warrenty on the insulin pump is void if I went through the security gate with the pump- so something isn't quite adding up!! Fortunately I had all my back up injections with me but I must say I'm rather p**sed off with Animas's attitude towards my situation. Shall now get in touch with my diabetic team and see whether they can sort something out for me! Has anyone else had any issues with scanners at the airport doing parculiar things to their pump?

I always go through the security gate with my pump on and have never had a problem. But then I had a Medtronic pump but have recently changed to an Animas 2020.

So I will be interested to see what happens with regard to your warranty.

I will have a look through the paperwork that came with the pump later as am going away in a couple of weeks.

Lisa, read page 10 of your animas manual, and tell them to take a runner.

With my Vibe the rep was clear that 'company policy' was do not go through security scanners.. however he did say that it shouldn't be a problem.

I did get the occasional occlusion error on my vibe at it's default sensitivity it is very sensitive to pressure on the tubing (If I pull my belt to tight and I have the inset on my tight this can trigger a warning). I have personally set mine down to low sensitivity and have not had any more warnings or issues with delivery.
