Last year I was set up with my Animas Vibe Pump, So far its been working well but I recently noticed that the 'OK' button no longer pops when you click it. Its almost like its just squishing down and i barely notice that it has been pushed if the screen didnt react.

I can't remember when this started happening or if this is just how the 'OK' is supposed to be?

Those with Vibe - Do all of our buttons feel the same way when they are pushed, or is this a sign that my button is failing ?

I have not abused it, its never been dropped or damaged in any way.

Thanks!

@Diamattic Ive just pressed the OK button on my Vibe to check. Yes, mine clicks. A kind of soft click as I press it in, but a very definite sound.

Could your button be sticky? I sometimes touch my pump when I'm eating and it gradually gets grubby with food and slight oil.

If it's not that, I'd phone Animas and ask. It's not worth something being wrong or the button failing.

Thank you @azure!

It is not sticky, it just doesn't have the same snap as the rest of the buttons do. I will try calling Animas tomorrow and see what they can do. It is working fine, I have only had it about a year now. :/

Mine's less than a year old - do report back on what Animas say @Diamattic

I shall be watching all my buttons very closely now!

I seem to remember reading posts before about buttons sticking on the Animas Vibe, as a general rule Animas will replace the pump without question.

Hi @Diamattic the buttons on my 2 month old pump all click very clearly. I have noticed what you are describing on other things, like mobile phones, and I myself have wondered if it is "just me" as the changes happen gradually over time.

Thanks everyone!

Shortly after posting this I did call Animas to explain my concern - which is not that the button is sticking, it works fine, but that the it has functioning has changed and my concern is that over time this will continue to change and eventually become unresponsive.

They told me that they totally understand and will send me a new pump immediately! Which is far more then expected given the cost of a new pump, but again its fine by me lol

Also - fun fact for those who do not know - Animas told me that when they replace a broken pump they give the user the option to change colour. So if you get a colour you dislike, or get sick of and maybe you call in and say the buttons are sticking they will send you a new one in a different colour if you ask haha
