Just seeing if this is true. If you suspend your vibe as you are doing exercise, does this also stop the Dexcom from working as well - thanks for any replies

From what I remember yes so just put a zero basal in that spot :)

You shouldn't suspend your pump unless uploading data - it removes pressure from inside the pump allowing insulin to travel backup the line. not a huge amount but can allow introduction of air to your site or draw blood back if your still connected!

Use temporary basal instead at 0% is needed.

I think it keeps logging the data but you can't see the data. From memory.

I agree with everyone else here.

I assume you may have read the same online review of the Vibe + Dexcom that i did. The review i read made it seem like it was a huge issue with the Vibe, when in reality that reviewer just never posted the correct way to 'suspend' insulin.

If you are suspending insulin due to exercise you likely will never need to suspend completely, so you should more accurately do a temp basal to keep you from going low, but also to keep you from going high.

If you have a low and wish to suspend, just do a temp basal of -100% which effectively stops all basal insulin and will not suspend your dexcom.

Same goes if you want to go to the beach and take your pump off but keep your CGM on, just do a temp basal of -100% and you are good to go with the Dexcom still showing on the Vibe.

CAUTION: The lowest basal delivery amount possible is 0.025U/Hr. When you set a negative temporary basal rate, your pump will beep and display an Alert screen to remind you of the minimum delivery limit. This screen will display once for 4 seconds and give one audible alert (if you turned on Alert sounds in Setup). Your pump will not deliver any temporary basal set below 0.025 U/Hr. Any temporary basal rate set below 0.025 U/Hr will automatically be re-set to 0.025 U/Hr.
If you would like to deliver a temp basal amount less than 0.025 U/Hr, you can select “OFF” in the “Change” % field in the screen above. This will set the temp basal rate to 0.0 U/Hr for the duration selected.
