Ankhway mushroom *******

I’m T2 but now using insulin, Novor Rapid & Lantus
I’m T1 since a kid & currently use the same combo with insulin.

Are you currently using this brand you ask about?
Or curiosity.?

I’ve read about claims with pain management with such “products.”
But BG management claims are far fetched. It’s more worth while to focus on the tools prescribed. Insulin & diet.
Learning to carb count timing is crucial to with Novorapid & balancing the Lantus so fasting levels are within boundaries.

What sort of feedback are you getting from your consultant/doctor/nurse..?

Hi Jaylee, I’m just curious. A couple of people o know are using mushroom ******* (might just be a fad at the moment) and they all report that they feel better in themselves, clearer mind etc. none of them are Diabetic. I’m really asking because I don’t know what effect they would have on blood levels, up or down! There seems to be conflicting view via Google

I haven’t asked any doctors or healthcare professionals yet.

At 5 grams of sugar per portion of two small ******* (information from their website) they are likely mostly made out of sugar. So they would increase blood glucose. But because portions are small, you may well be able to deal with those carbs, the only way to find out is to try.
Do you carb count to adjust your insulin doses?

Other than that, people take all sorts of supplements and vitamins without there being proof it is useful or needed. I wouldn't spend my money on them (like you say, sounds like a fad, no scientific background for all their claims at all), but at 5 grams of carbs per daily portion I don't think it would affect your BG too much.

Thank you, that’s really helpful. It would be great if they made them without any sugar content.

Here are the ingredients apart from the small amount of mushrooms (taken from their own website):

Have you considered simply frying mushrooms in butter with a little salt to add to your breakfast?
Very tasty, you can vary the types of mushrooms you use, works wonderful with bacon and egg, and will give you actual nourishment instead of lots of sugar with a tiny little bit of mushrooms.
