i tried that i went 3 -2 -1 - ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and couldnt do it in the end i managed it - to find there were no lancets in it

Try using your third finger on the side but not close to your nail, the skin is softer and feels less pain.

brilliant - thanks i think i did it to close to the tip - i got the best amount of blood from the index in the end - not looking forward to doing it again - but am looking forward to seeing the result

Before this thread closes :lol: if you get yourself a tube of Clinistix teststrips either online or from chemist, you can pass one of the strips through a stream of urine when you have a wee. These are not as accurate as using a bg meter but as long as the colour on the strips stays pink you shouldn't have any problems
