Annoyed

No need for stress or anger. If this place doesn't work for her and the other one does, then it's all good. There's plenty of newbies that find this forum works for them, especially when they realise that low carb food doesn't consist of only lettuce lol.

Seriously folks, shame she felt the need to put the boot into people (including me) that tried to help, but so be it. Hoping she finds what she is looking for.

Come on guys. Cut a bit of slack here?

People experience differing levels of shock and denial when diagnosed. Some people are ready for the hard facts and some take a bit longer to feel their way forward.

Right now, all this thread is doing is making it much less likely the person concern would return.

There may come a point when the person feels they want "something" that isn't apparently available elsewhere, and we should be leaving the door open for those events.

At some stage in our lives we've all been hasty making judgements. I know I have. Shortly after I arrived here I tore someone off a strip for making a judgemental comment, from a T1 perspective about me (or T2 in general, I've blanked out the detail.... Ahem). Since then, I've come to respect that poster as someone worthy of my attention because they really do know what they're talking about. At the time, I was hypersensitive and subsequently openly apologised to him.

Let's try to leave a door open here.
I agree and i understand that people experience different levels of shock ect when diagnosed. Personally on diagnosis i was anxious and depressed ect. I am on the other forum...i went there first. Then i found this forum.

Although i found the advice from people at the other forum to be unhelpful and pushy, i didnt come here and say nasty things about them. I think that was the reason i wasnt best pleased. From what i can see people try to help others no matter what forum u are on.

A question is asked and people try to help by answering that question for u....if the advice works....great! If not then try something/somewhere else....just dont be horrible about other people. Sorry folks but i dont like nasty

Oh and awwww thanks @Mike D and Avocado Sevenfold....luvs yas too

Do we get to guess?

I would have hoped that a HCP would have had more basic knowledge of biology and nutrition than the average newbie.

Mine don't seem to have in the nutrition department. My dietitian said, "It's like doggies and bunnies racing round a track". My DN used to think that high blood sugar was due to bread crumbs and Kendrick said that during his medical degree they didn't spend more than one hour on nutrition since it was deemed irrelevant.

Let us be kind and starve the oxygen from any angst that has the potential to build up:)

My dad always used to say, "it's always right to do the right thing", I thought he was barmy back then. Now I think he was profound.

Your Dad was a wise man. My Dad used to say "the truth'll usually do" when he was asking the sort of tricky question we might have been tempted to fib on. Let's face it, fibs, small, medium or larger, are usually found out in short order,............. especially by your Dad!

I so loved my Dad.
