All went well. DN said she wished that all her patients had good numbers like mine. I told her that she should give out better advice on 'diet', her reply was that patients with diabetes could have anything in moderation. As you can imagine I was not happy with her advice and told her that I haven't eaten potatoes, bread, pasta, rice, the list went on since I was diagnosed but she was sticking to her mantra. The only downside to the appointment was my cholesterol, she said 'your cholesterol is 7.1' I must have pulled a face because she asked if I was OK with that. Of course I was.

Well done. :) So the DN wishes her advice worked then, right? I guess that's easier than her having to change the advice then :banghead:.

Hi i had a visit to the DN yesterday. Second one. She's very good but she mentioned my cholesterol which i think is just fine. I said don't even go there with the statins because it's not gonna happen. You seem to be doing 100% shame they don't encourage people more.

It's a shame that hcps still can't accept actual evidence and feel they have to follow the script.
My dn was ok when I told her I had lowered my HbA1c by not following NHS advice. She said she didn't understand why the NHS didn't recommend lchf but thought it was because of the high fat part.
