Just had my annual diabetic review and can not believe I had to tell the nurse the rules on testing for HGV drivers from the DVLA. She said I do not need to test my blood levels as I am only taking Metformin and Sitagliptin. DVLA say you must test before starting to drive and then every 2 hours whilst driving. The up side I've been issued 2 Gluco RX meters. One for home and one for my truck.
Anyone else encountered this situation.

Too many to list.
I wasn't told to take regular B/G checks at anytime when I was a HGV driver.
Def not with Metformin or Sitagliptin, Gliclazide may be different tho.

Hi carb Foods
Had same with my "practice nurse2 when I was on Gliclazide.
She was very cross when I told her that I would only follow her instructions that there was no need to test if she signed a affidavit making her fiscally responsible for recompense if her advice caused any loss of licence! ( Needless to say she backed down:rolleyes:
