Hey all!

Needing an opinion, tested my Blood after some carrot and swede and an hour after I was rocking an 8.7 up from 5.4 earlier (eek!) but then not half an hour later? Tested again at a 5.6, could it have just been a bad strip or something on my finger at the time?

It could have been. You should have tested again straight away. However, it could have been the carrots spiking you and then your insulin caught up with it. It doesn't take very long to drop if you have sufficient insulin on board.

Do you wash your hands before you test? I wipe mine on a paper towel after washing, just in case there is something on the towel we all use. A speck of sugary food on your finger can send a BG reading through the roof.

@Dexterdobe @Bluetit1802 Mmm I may not have washed my hands, I was in a bit of a hurry to get back to renovating the room that I just did a quick one. When I came to do it again I did wash them so it could have been some errant glucose on my finger from something else. Thanks for the advice there, gonna just have to keep a handle on it.
