Hi All,
Karen here. Have been a T2 diabetic for quite some time but, due to non-helpful information from my doctor on being diagnosed, my sugars spiralled over the years which ended up with me, 6 weeks ago, in A&E to be diagnosed with DKA, emergency surgery to remove my badly infected gallbladder & then spending 8 days in ICU and HDU. What a wake up call!! I am so glad to have found this website and have signed up for the Low Carb Program. I am looking forward to learning all I can from you lovely people. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks. ;):)

Welcome - so sorry you've had such a rough time. We're a friendly lot, so fasten your seat belt and enjoy!

Hello and welcome @Karen362

You have found an amazing site. This site changed my life and I am sure you will receive the same help and support I received.

If you have not already done so I highly recommend getting a meter. The meter is the tool that will help you work out exactly what effect different foods have on your levels and allow you to make choices based on that information.

Good luck and welcome.
