Hellooo! I have recently posted about my sciatica etc! And was wondering is having an office job really the right thing for this condition? Or do I need something more active??? I know it sounds really stupid but yeah!

Hi Nicola, I would advise that any job in this current climate is a bonus so I certainly wouldn't give it up ! Even with an office job, you can still be active. You can either work out before or after work ? Cycle to work ( depending how far ), go for a walk in lunch break ? There are even exercises you can do at your desk.

an office job will not give you sciatica or make it worse or bring it on. Sciatica is caused when the piriformis muscle is tight and places pressure on the sciatic nerve. A sport like soccer or swimming (breast stroke) are examples the would heavily utilise the piriformis. If youre suffering from sciatica, pay attention to your movement that is causing this. do you wear heels? that may also bring it on.

Hi, well my chair gives me a terrible back ache and sitting down for too long I can then barely walk and then even so walking to and from work hurts so much! I guess I was just worried I guess!
