As to flare ups mine was better at some times than others, same with my dad. My triggers were acidic foods & fizzy drinks & stress, same for dad but also strangely when he decorated & used gloss paint it would flare upThanks so much for your replies and advice, nobody mentioned the helicobacter test yesterday, I did test positive for that a few years ago and was put on antibiotics although I didn't have an ulcer then. Don't know if they're planning on doing the endoscopy first but I think I'll contact my GP to get some advice on this. Am I right in thinking these are flare ups that will get better in time? Dr at hospital yesterday has doubled my Omeprazole dose so hopefully between that and my food changes it'll start to calm down soon. Thanks again.
Maggie
If it is indeed a stomach ulcer, and if the cause is indeed h. pylori, treatment should be as simple as a course of antibiotics. Thanks so much for your replies and advice, nobody mentioned the helicobacter test yesterday, I did test positive for that a few years ago and was put on antibiotics although I didn't have an ulcer then.
