Any experience of MyDesmond online alternative to face-to-face session?

I'm newly diagnosed T2. I've just been offered MyDesmond online as an alternative to face-to-face session that are not being run due to COVID.

Has anyone got any experience of using MyDesmond? How are you getting on with it or how did you find it? Useful? Opinions?

Not MyDesmond, but I did attend an in person Desmond course when diagnosed.

It wasn’t helpful - too focused on the Eatwell plate and no interest in exploring alternatives. I’d already reduced my HbA1c from 108 to 57 when I attended and was the only attendee that did not eat any of the biscuits laid out for the day.

That was a few years ago, so things may have changed, but I doubt it.

Mine was not the Desmond course a different one but yes the dreaded eat well plate - I took it with a pinch of salt and then came here and went LCHF. The GI index was informative though, I still use it now.

Hi, I have completed the my Desmond course on line. For me most of it was common sense how ever I have a very good understanding of nutrition and exercise. That said there where a few elements that I was not aware off. My advise is try it at worst you have wasted a few hours at best you may find it very enlightening.
Any help is better than now help.
Good luck

Thank you for your reply. I've recently struggled with fatigue and messaged the expert. But, I was last told by the expert to get in touch with my "Healthcare Team". Well, I thought they were the healthcare team. I'm going to phone the doctors on Monday. Thanks again.

Hi, I was diagnosed with T2 about a year ago and attended a zoom Desmond course about 9 months ago. The course advised a 'balanced diet', I followed the ideas given. But for me controlling my blood sugars is not the Desmond balanced diet. It actually delayed me controlling my blood sugars. It's not a 'balanced diet', for me its cutting out, bread, pasta, rice, most fruits, the obvious sugary and carb foods. It's been a struggle/learning curve, a low carb diet gradually getting there. Good luck.
