Any ideas on my readings/feelings

Have you had your Blood Pressure levels checked recently ?

Symptoms such as you describe can be attributable to really high BP levels.........something I experienced a while ago, before going onto BP lowering meds. Not a pleasant experience at all.
It was actually nothing to do with Diabetes but simply a Cardiovascular problem.

Regardless of what it may be down to, you should discuss this with your GP.

Well, if you are sure about that.......my BP is always around the 110/65 level but I have had the odd incident or two where it shot up to around 197/120 and that is when I felt as you described. I check my BP at home frequently and give those readings to my GP/Nurse/Endo etc.

My Consultant wasn't sure if it was medication induced, as I was taking some pretty powerful anti Cancer drugs at the time, or just a 'glitch' which seems to have no real explanation. Been fine ever since.

You might also be just going down with something, a 'bug' maybe. There are many things this could be down to, most are not Diabetes related. I would definitely get it checked out at your GP's, especially as you say it doesn't seem to relate to Bg levels.

I had the same symptoms just over a week ago plus tingling in both arms, alternating between fever/cold sweats, dizzy - I was taken off Metformin as a temporary measure as some of it seemed like an allergic reaction but it appeared odd as I have been on Metformin for almost 2 years. I am getting full bloodwork done tomorrow but my GP is coming around to the view that I had this bug which is doing the rounds at the moment and it was not related to the diabetes.
Reason he is thinking this is the same thing happened 3 weeks ago and the only consistant factor is I wasn't well then either. I agree though it is really frightening when it happens.
Still, at least I'll see if the bloodwork throws anything up.
