Any ideas please?

Ali - there is a whole lot more to low carb eating than just veg and salad, go click through the low carb recipes section, click on the links and see the photos, check out the Chocolate Paradise thread, did you see Julia/SweetHearts wonderful chocolate mousse recipe, all good low carb food.

I understand your frustration though, I dont know how long it is since you have gone low carb, but you need to give it a few days sometimes before bg levels drop, its not always instant. Its also possible that, as you say, you are MODY. Get it checked out, you do need a proper diagnosis. Its possible you need medication or insulin to help you achieve good bg levels, dont fret, you are not a failure, not everybody is suited to go Ultra Low Carb, you need to be able to enjoy your life and enjoy the food that you are eating.

Dont beat yourself up, you have done your best, and I hope that you are geting more help and support from your medical team so that you can achieve good control of your diabetes.

GP is away until next week. His suspicion from the outset was LADA or type 1.5 and he did warn me it could suddenly go wrong and the honeymoon period created by the gliclazide would end. Well, it has! I had a 12 carb smoothie for breakfast made from greek yoghurt and mixed berries, salad with chicken, tuna and a single slice of bread for lunch. 2 1/2 hours after lunch I still had a reading of 12.1. I am sorry but that just is not right. I haven't stopped all day so exercise is not an issue either.
