Good afternoon! I was diagnosed Type 2 last week and am taking metformin. I'm currently drinking an occasional cup of tea but mainly water.

Are the any dilute cordials that won't do me any harm??

I used to drink lots of fizzy drinks and had none for 6 weeks and no alcohol, I dare not drink any beer.

Marks and Spencer do some good no added sugar ones.

Lemon Juice - add a teaspoon to water.

Also Agnostura bitters - you only need a few drops to add flavour.

I guess you are looking at cordial for something with low or no sugar.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any.
Those that say "no added sugar" mean "nothing added" but that doesn't mean no sugar from the fruit.

In the hot weather, I often drink iced herbal tea - I make a very small strong cup (about an inch or two of hot water in the bottom of the mug) of tea with a teabag, leave it 5 - 10 minutes and then top the mug up with ice.

Look at the labels - there are some which are very low, but some claim no added sugar but contain fruit juice - and therefore fructose.
It is the difference between the label on the front with the big colourful splashes on it and the information on the back in black and white, and usually rather small print.

Also look at the ingredients to see what they have added to replace the missing sugar. Some sweeteners are particularly nasty.

I'm newly diagnosed type 2 and I've found no added sugar vimto cordial and Buxton sparkling water make a lovely refreshing drink.

I drink a mouthful of water from the bottle and top up with cordial

I go through phases of just squeezing a lemon or lime into 500 mls of cold water and it's good for me.

I do this too particularly in warmer weather, and sometimes add a couple of drops of liquid stevia.

Some herbal teas can be nice chilled too
